The series is an Anime adaptation based off the popular Korean drama ‘Winter Sonata’. A short synopsis of the original story is as follows:
Joon-sang is an extraordinarily talented young man who is the center of attention in both the eyes of his peers and teachers. However, being the illegitimate son of his father and conflicts with his mother quickly lead Joon-sang to believing that nobody truly loves him. On one fortuitous day on the ride to school, Joon-sang’s classmate Yu-jin interrupts him on the bus. Joon-sang soon falls in love with Yu-jin, who opens herself to him with an innocent heart. Their brief relationship is cut short due to a serious auto-accident where Joon-sang becomes unable to remember his past. His mother, desiring the best for her son, has him brainwashed by a psychologist to forget the past. Feeding him a different story, she tells her son to live life as Li Min-hyung. Ten years later, returning from the United States, the once Joon-sang is a completely different person who remembers nothing about his past or home country. But upon his arrival, Joon-sang is met by his lover once again and a complex relationship begins to unfold.
